Oh, of course. Glad we've defined knowledge I was starting to get worried. -

Act 3 Person A: I'm god *puff up chest* Person B: No, I'M god *points to self with pride* They fight. Mortally wound one another. Both die. -

You're both right. And not even paradoxically. Wow. -

What has been helpful to me to get underneath my beliefs about language is to notice the way sensations can give rise to internal verbalizations. Eventually, the sensations become meaningless and no longer require the assistance of language for interpretation. Meaninglessness aside, there is no interpretation to make and no one who would make it. http://mentalfloss.com/article/50684/it-possible-think-without-language -

Isn't it fascinating how the same exact word can have two completely different meanings depending on the context? Like saying the word "gay" in support of equal rights marriage, versus using it as an insult. One word, two meanings. How could something so variable and subjective be a direct representation of an absolute reality? Assuming reality is absolute... -

The illusion is the truth subjectively until it is no longer. It seems to me it would be more effective to teach according to the students' existing worldview and subjective experience rather than simply telling them to relinquish it. -

I'm curious about what those of you who are no longer ego identified do to retrain your pet ego and get worldly results more efficiently. I've found Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) to be a helpful mental framework for understanding the psyche, allowing for personal change & influence. There's a helpful process that NLP describes as Modeling. Here's a definition for you: "NLP Modeling is the process of recreating excellence. We can model any human behavior by mastering the beliefs, the physiology and the specific thought processes (that is the strategies) that underlie the skill or behavior." So if you view other humans as AI's, modeling would be the process of scanning their system for areas in which they have stronger programs than you and copying those program files within yourself. What about you? What areas of study have you found helpful in modifying your internal experience and the results you create in the world? -

This happened to me for many months. It was extremely physically and psychologically painful and sometimes caused me to spasm uncontrollably, cry out in pain, sweat... I felt like I was going insane. Also during that period of time I could think about and speak about virtually nothing other than enlightenment, and ended up alienating those closest to me. Would not recommend lol. Can you tell me more about your experience? -

@WildeChilde It sounds like you have a curious mind, which I view as a good thing. Some will say that the only way to understand the true nature of reality is through direct experience. This is true. However, until you experience truth of reality for yourself, philosophical thought experiments can be crucial road signs pointing towards your future enlightenment. Why do you think Leo has so many great videos about philosophical principles? To paraphrase Echart Tolle, the words (concepts, thought experiments) are not the Enlightenment itself. But that doesn't necessarily mean they can't be "signposts" pointing towards it. People telling you DON'T do this or DO do this are preaching a dogma. You are the experiencer - not them. The way you spend your time is ultimately up to you. -

Bro what are you guys talking about Just because I have no control over my thoughts doesn't mean we can't share information with one another. What if planning is the thing that is happening spontaneously at the moment? What if me requesting information is result of me letting go of all control? Then again, if there really is no control, then you guys had no choice other than to say what you did rather than further my intended purpose of this thread. So its all good
