Ibn Sina replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I want enlightenment for the reason same reason Buddha and Leo wanted enlightenment, to have a better life, and to eliminate suffering arising from the ego. I think 'why' I need enlightenment is not that difficult to answer. It's like asking, why I exactly do I want to take 5-meo DMT. -

Good point I think I have the balls to do anything. I can inquire my way to my deepest possible insecurities, I can explore my emotions and feelings to the depths that would leave me wounded and bloodied. I could kill if that would get me enlightenment. All I am saying is I have the balls . But I am not sure, that just because I have the balls, I can get enlightened because I don't exactly know what it means to 'explore emotions and insecurities'. I have done hours of self inquiry and meditations.I have gone deeply to my psyche and have had good and bad experiences. I have never went 'Woah, that was horrifying, I am never doing that again'.But that hasn't lead to my enlightenment. "Enlightenment doesn't come from a monastic lifestyle, it comes from you not having the balls to inquire on uncomfortable things" I have the balls to do any uncomfortable stuffs. I could kill if that would lead to enlightenment. But I don't think it's simple as having the balls. But rather about somehow starting a chain reaction in the psyche that leads to the realization. (which the mind /ego may resist, that is where huge balls are needed) Adi Shankara got his chain reactions started when he was 13, he got enlightened at such a young age. He did it somehow which most people can't. -

I am not trying to assure you, I just wrote it as a way to express. I don't care what you think of me. All I am saying is your judgement has no logical basis. You are just saying stuffs. By that logic, I can say even you are focused on others. Yes, you TruthAddict are very focused on others and you should focus on yourself. I can also say, you are not a Truth Addict, you are only an Addict. See, I have no logical basis to back this up, but just like you I am also 'saying stuffs'. -

I can assure you that I am focused on myself. That is not my point. My point is your 'paradox', 'wisdom pieces' don't hold much value. -

Leo did not become enlightened by koans. He took the 5-Meo. -

Yes, you might be right. ( Who knows?) -

There are only 2 logical ways to answer my post. The first one is- Yes, this is the situation, and this has to change. And that can happen if x can happen, which can happen if y can happen and so on.... Second one is- No , the current model is the right model. 'Enlightened professionals' is not a practical idea. This is because ______. Those reasonings take knowledge , education and deep thought. Fundamentally, my question is, whether the current spirituality model is right or not. I am making the claim that on a large scale, this model cannot be sustained. So the answer should be, whether the current model should be changed or not. What you said isn't wrong, but it doesn't add anything new. -

May be it is like a koan like the zen monks ponder upon. I am not interested in koans. -
Ibn Sina replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
What exactly do you mean by that. If I am enlightened then there is no me, if there is no me, how can I be an obstacle for anything? -

What you have written is nothing profound or complex ,though your ego may think what you have written is something revolutionary.. A 10 year old can come up with that. My question is asking something deeper which you apparently are not seeing. I am talking about a hypothetical scenario (where everyone adoped the Monk model of spirituality). All I am saying in the post is that this 'trend' of enlightened masters who are like asccetics and zen monks cannot be sustained and we need a new model. I am talking about the current 'trend' that we are seeing and we need to do something about it. While you are saying , this is obvious and the current situation is how it should be. You say 'obviously' they would be teachers, that is very black and white thinking, without any further depth. And also it has got nothing to do with what I am saying in my post. Me and Leo (as told by Aakash) express a need for this change, while you are saying obviously this is the case and nothing wrong with that. -

See, that's because of your time spent on spirituality and awareness. You have become a healthier person and a doctor, and I am sure you are not less efficient in your work. Anybody else wouldn't have made those checks. In a sense you have it 'better' than a normal doc. -

I was thinking that you said , given the same situation and condition, the enlightened doctor would make mistake while the stage orange would not, but what you are saying is both of them have equal chance of making a mistake. I am asking, how will it be worse to be an enlightened doctor in above case? Wouldn't it better? An unenlightened doctor suffers more due to his mistake, but an enlightened one handles it well. It would be better. -

I am talking about someone like, a Stock Broker + Enlightened master. -

You are wrong about the 1st half but right about the 2nd half. Why do you already assume that the enlightened doctor would make mistake? What about, let's say- He doesn't make mistake. But if he did, 30 years into his practice, that wouldn't cause great grief in him. That's all. I think you are connecting sensitivity to work efficiency. A stage orange doctor would go- Oh no I must never ever ever make a mistake. While a Turqoise may not do so. But I don't think the stage orange doc thinking that would lead to any efficiency in his performance. It's all about the about of training and hardwork and practice. A surgeon who is operating on his son might also say- I must never ever ever make a mistake. I hope you know what happens in such cases. -

You are right. It is difficult. The ideal of 'enlightened professionals' is difficult, but I don't think impossible. That's all. It's a very very very idealistic dream. It's not a guarantee that dedicating 24H leads to enlightnement, and adding 'professionals' to it is going one step further. Are you a doctor? -

Here's a scenario- He looks at the patient, he quickly finds the signs, symptoms, the investigations, diagnosis, the treatment, finished. Then he relaxes, and instead of his mind wandering into worries, and doubts, past and futures like a stage orange doc, he has peace and only peace. -

It looks like that, when looking at all the spiritual masters or spiritual 'success stories' like Buddha, Osho, Sadhguru. All they do is talk spirituality. It doesn't have to be like that. It is. I think so. I mean, who cannot put aside atleast 1 hour a day for spirituality? Doing that could lead to 10,000 hours some day. Dedicate the rest of the hours to your work. How is it not possible? All I find is highly toxic and egoic doctors, columnists, grandmasters and politicians who are beyond doubt not enlightened. An enlightened doctor could work efficiently like any doctor, the difference is there is an overflowing of love radiating from his heart, but his mind works as efficiently as any doc. -

I am not sure you are 100% enlightened. -
Ibn Sina replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, but an 'enlightened doctor' could also work efficiently like a complete stage orange doctor. He can put his spirituality aside in his practice. Of course spirituality has 0 benefit or synergy with medicine. But still I think it's possible that man can be a highly efficient doctor who when he is not practicing medicine, has enlightenment within him. That's the difference between a stage orange and turquoise doctor. There's no difference when they are doing their job, the difference is when they are not doing their job -

May be I have psychic powers such that I can download information from Leo's blog into my mind without physically reading it. What is the date where he wrote? Or could you give me the link. -

I won't go into details (which is huge. Buddhists have done investigation for 1000s of years) For starters, I will say, he walks and talks like the Buddha. He is calm all the time, and never angry (just an example, it's not confined to this alone) With that logic, you also don't know whether I am an alien or a human and vice versa. This is a problem discussed by Neil de grasse Tyson in a youtube video that I don't remember.
