As a 12-year-old, Richard—or "Richie", as he was known to his family—was strongly influenced by his older cousin, Miguel ("Mike") Ramirez,[6] a decorated U.S. Army Green Beret combat veteran who often boasted of his gruesome exploits during the Vietnam War. He shared Polaroid photos of his victims, including Vietnamese women he had raped.[7] In some of the photos, Mike posed with the severed head of a woman he had abused.[8]Ramirez, who had begun smoking marijuana at the age of 10, bonded with Mike over joints and gory war stories.[9] Mike taught his young cousin some of his military skills, such as killing with stealth.[10] Around this time, Ramirez began to seek escape from his father's violent temper by sleeping in a local cemetery.[10] Ramirez was present on May 4, 1973, when his cousin Mike fatally shot his wife, Jessie, in the face with a .38 caliber revolver during a domestic argument.[11] After the shooting, Ramirez became sullen and withdrawn from his family and peers. Later that year, he moved in with his older sister, Ruth, and her husband, Roberto, an obsessive "peeping Tom" who took Richie along on his nocturnal exploits.[12] Ramirez also began using LSDand cultivated an interest in Satanism.[13] Mike was found not guilty of Jessie's murder by reason of insanity and was released in 1977, after four years of incarceration at the Texas State Mental Hospital. His influence over Ramirez continued. Pretty much the last guy who should do acid. -
This is one of those books that I jump back and forth in when needed. I will never "stop" reading it. Its not one of those kinds of book.

Sit and try to focus on the fact that youre alive or the is-ness of reality. Sounds silly until you start feeling yourself losing your mind in mystery.

Psychedelics dont work on psychotic people - Not Terence McKenna -
Science is imaginary. Its literally happening in your thoughts. If I tell you what science is you wont agree with me because were imagining different things. Which one is true? Heres another to consider, if you talked to Einstein in the 1930s you and him might even disagree on what science is! Supposing you could time travel.

The US prison population is mindblowing.

Scientism uses gatekeeping. Examples. "Those people over there are not rational, theyre woo-woo. You wont find any good knowledge from them. They dont have Phd's. They will fool you. They only want money from you. Its a cult. Its not scientific. Its archaic non-sense, we know better nowadays. Its wishful thinking. Religion is not useful" Isnt it interesting? Why does this happen? What happens if you step outside the bounds? What might you find? In a certain sense they are shaming you for stepping out on your own. Collective ego? Quite similar to fundamentalism. Except they use different wording. "Those people are evil, those people will drag you down to hell, youll end up betrayed, youll become an evil atheist"

Are we different from animals? Humans use... Agriculture - but Leafcutter Ants and Beetles farm fungus as well as many other animals! Speech - Animals HAVE Speech, but we call it "communication" have you ever been to a jungle? Do you hear all that noise? Writing - Does not being able to write make you less human? What about poor people? Disabled people? Are they not human? Tools - Animals dont NEED tools! Humans use tools because we dont have claws and sharp teeth so in reality were the underdeveloped ones... Without tools we might have gone extinct! But just for the fun of it. Chimpanzees use spears! Most of the tools that animals use are built-in. The wings of a bird or the mandibles of a beetle. Buildings - Ants build incredibly complex structures, so do bees, birds build nests! Cognitive - Animals dont think...? How do you know? How do you know I am thinking? Quite a speculation to assume that somebody is thinking or not... Complexity - humans are more complex! We have colonized the planet! - So have ants and birds, they are everywhere on the planet. There are more ants than humans. Complexity doesnt equal superiority. A cancer is more complex than a rock? Is it superior to it? Food for thought. To crack your mind open.

i think we need to differentiate between consciousness and Consciousness a baby is Conscious but not as conscious as a Zen master. a baby is too ignorant (in the literal sense) to reflect on reality while a Zen master is obviously not yet its obvious that its conscious
