  1. Everything he talked about I've pretty much experienced more or less, hes just freaked out because he isnt used to meditation. Its just the mind trying to make sense of a lack of stimulation. He didnt even "go crazy", clickbait title from him. Plus, he talked too much, pure silence and closed eyes and he couldve gone much deeper.

  4. Felt my tibia/shinbone for the first time. Without any physical pressure from the outside. You can feel alot. But it takes tremendous focus. All the sensations are already there, its only the mind that is in the way.

  6. Its amazing that there are places on my body I have never thought about. I never realized the foot has so many sensations. The foot is not just the foot. There are 5 toes, a bridge, an ankle, a sole, the ball of the toes, a heel, so much to feel into. Earlier today I was feeling anxious and discovered the bridge of my foot had alot of tension. I dont think I have ever put awareness on the bridge of my foot. I certainly have never thought about that feet can feel anxious. So obvious now.
  7. Cravings are high bodily tension. Next time you feel a craving for something, lay down (if possible) and feel into your body until the craving subsides, and the body relaxes.

  14. Great post! But the last paragraph kind of threw me off... If you want to feel as good as heroin why dont you just do drugs? Mindfulness is not about feeling good, its about being present, sometimes the present is horrifying, sometimes its blissful. If you expect to feel good from just being present youre going to be dissapointed when you feel bad and then keep chasing that good feeling. It will never end.
  15. will definitely read i know i have some unconscious drive for sure that puts me in dangerous situations, would be nice to know why I read and did the exercises from Debbie Fords book a couple years ago, it was good for learning self-love and self-acceptance, but this might be more deep
  16. Shouldnt you stop using it knowing it triggered you in the past? What about others? Of course, this whole deal is about being mindful of how language is used, just shining a light on my daily usage is what I want to do, I wont beat myself up for not living up the some standard. Just... be aware.
  17. I want to stop using ableist language. Words like "Retard, dumb, stupid, lame" ...but also saying things like "Thats so gay". Language is something you can be mindful of. How can I use "gay" as an insult mindlessly when I have a gay brother, it makes no sense. I will be working on how I use language in the future.

  20. Im famiiar with regular old meditation but I feel like its too "in my head". Im planning to embark on a journey to discover my body through body scanning for about a year, like a daily experiment. Is anyone very familiar with this particular type of meditation? What are the benefits? Thanks.
