Meditation has never helped me change my core beliefs, Shadow Work and Deconstruction is better for that, radical honesty and questioning of the mind.

Its circumstantial, we have to look at it case by case. Sometimes things are obviously racist and we should call that out, other times its more messy. The problem is that racism is getting more hidden and dogwhistly which narrows anti-racists focus too, what is racist today wasnt as racist 20 years ago, and thats good, we need to become more conscious, but conscious doesnt mean witchhunts, conscious means education and changing the culture, for example, how is Hollywood portraying Arabs in their movies?

I think racism lies on a spectrum, you can be extremely racist or you can be unconciously slightly racist, for example, sometimes if I see an Arab man on the train I will think "terrorist?" and feel a teensy bit nervous but at the same time I know its because I have been taught this by post 9/11 culture, I dont make a big story out of it, I just let myself feel it and move on with my day, I dont think its possible to eradicate your bias 100%, not in this climate, were way too underdeveloped for that. But its important to do Shadow Work on racism, if you are afraid to be racist and get triggered when someone calls you out and constantly have to put up a front of being the good guy you probably have some hidden biases you havent worked out.

Great examples, dont be afraid to post clips. I like this quote by Mandela "When I walked out of that prison I realized if I didnt let go of my anger and resentment I would still be in prison."

Its just how I look at it, I dont necessarily subscribe to the Buddhist notion of karma. -

Imo karma is not about good or evil, karma is what you get when you put something into a system without being conscious of what it could lead to. Simplest example is being a warlord who rapes and murders families, dont be surprised if those close to those families come back and hang you when/if you lose your power. So karma is not some ethereal thing, its just cause and effect. Another example is destroying the environment, if you piss in the river dont be surprised if you get piss in your faucet. -

According to Gabor Mate hardcore addicts have a deficiency in their neurotransmitters from sometimes severe adverse childhood experience, for example as a normal person your dopamine is at 100 but a heroin addict might be naturally at 90 so when he does heroin for the first he goes up to 110 and for the first time he feels "normal" and thats why its harder for some people to quit drugs while others its not. If youre "naturally" depressed you will need to self-medicate yourself everyday, some do it with alcohol and weed and some with heroine and cocaine. Some dont need it at all. Now imagine how hard it is to quit addiction if you are constantly walking around feeling not normal with a black empty hole in your soul. Of course they are gonna want to medicate themselves. Btw, that number 100 is not dopamine units, its just a number I made up as an example.

Sometimes it is, sometimes its not. A bull is clearly a male because you can tell by the horns, but a cat you literally have to lift its tail to see, im not joking. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wikihow.com/Determine-the-Sex-of-a-Cat%3famp=1 Its not as simple as you say, what about a fly? Can you see a fly and instantly tell its sex, of course not, that would be silly. To be honest, this debate has pivoted in a pointless direction talking about animals which doesnt interest me, this debate doesnt seem good faith, I lost interest in it 2 hours ago, so Im out. If social construction triggers you then this conversation will go nowhere, there is tons for you to read about that, I didnt make it up, you go read.

This is so good.
