However some people report HPPD and triggers of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, depersonalizations, and existential crises. Positive effects do have some sort of lasting effect if one learns from it.
  2. Make sure you don't have a family history of schizophrenia. Make sure you test your substance so that you know it is real LSD. Do it on a day where you have no responsibilities and the day after should be light in terms of work and more of a day of reflection. Meditate a little before and just relax. Have an open mindset and let it run its course, don't expect or assume anything, just observe, thats how you have fun with it.
  3. Yes I do. Emotions is life, but you gotta be careful what is actually triggering emotions. Is it your reverence for the present, excitement/openness for the future, or rumination of the past? I am always on some ride/wave, it's just how I interpret things that guides which emotions one will have.
  4. Good post. Leo specifically says not to exhale more than one inhales, so I am not sure why that would be reducing all of the CO2 in one's body. I have not tried the method though because I am satisfied with meditation and psychedelics. I imagine the technique is still effective because it simulates a "fight or flight response" experience which is probably why old memories and anxious, sad emotions come up. I also interpret when Leo says we get more oxygen into the brain, I think he means in comparison to the shallow breathing a lot of people have when they are not being mindful. During the exercise, one is deliberately bringing oxygen into the body at a steady rate, much more than a person sitting in a chair in his office all day. I am still not convinced of your concern though either because Wim Hof is popular for also doing a very similar breathing exercise, but I still appreciate your post.
  5. My favorite word is God because honestly the descriptions of God are accurate. All knowing, all powerful, present everywhere. To worship God is to essentially worship Yourself, to celebrate being. I also like "I Am that I Am", emptiness, Holy Spirit, Allah, Higher power.

I'm sure Jed McKenna is respectful gentleman, but that was a poor explanation, given the extensive cultural and historical use of psychedelics as well as the scientific evidence of its benefits and ability to produce symptoms of spiritual experiences. Also to reduce a 5-meo experience to the label "drug", a class that is shared by heroin, cocaine, cigarettes, alcohol is disingenuous and reeks of ignorance. I sure wish a guru could actually give a thoughtful answer regarding this subject.

  9. I think about morality and freewill just like you. I also wonder what the "nothingness" and "emptiness" is. I've had occasions where I have become aware of this pure endless space. And I just want to understand that, but with everything else in context. I have had multiple insight about reality, but my ego just doesn't know what to make of it.
  10. Just for the fact that you are 16, I would 100% recommend waiting. Your brain is still developing and so is your perception of the world. I think the most helpful thing you can do if you are serious about the spiritual path is to lay down a strong foundation with daily meditation. In addition, focus on your studies, learn about the world through the various subjects: science, English, mathematics, art, nutrition, physical health, etc. I would not recommend any sort of drug use till university years because thats when I tried them. When I was sixteen, all I cared about was video games, but I sure wished I put more time into my studies and reading books. If schizophrenia runs in your immediate family, I would definitely recommend against taking LSD. You have a higher chance of becoming schizophrenic than the general population. Instead of schizophrenia, your mother may have a Schizotypal personality https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizotypal_personality_disorder . There are genetics and environmental components to both of them. I am not sure if something like schizophrenic can be ignored, it is a serious thing that effects the brain. You can find revealing MRI images showing the effects of schizophrenia on the brain on google. Brian Wilson and Syd Barret, while they made awesome music inspired from LSD, had Schizophrenia c-spectrum symptoms after dosing numerous times.
  11. Honestly, it can be relaxing, if one lets go and does not resist, but if you are tense with fear, then its not relaxing lol. Also mushrooms are different because of duration, but still do not underestimate it. In my experience, LSD's come on is slower and more manageable whereas mushrooms shoot you there like a sling shot when you reach that 25-30 minute mark, it can be quite overwhelming in the beginning, but it does go away after 6 hours. Just putting out a fair warning. mushrooms are not "easier" so to speak, but because they do not last as long, it may be "easier" for some. The beauty in LSD is the duration because it allows one to slowly to get into that psychedelic space and then slowly re-integrate back into ego-mode. Also when tripping, don't be afraid to get a little weird, if you wanna place your body or stretch in abnormal silly ways, just let all judgments go and let your body do what its gotta do. This is why tripping alone or with a accepting trip sitter can be helpful.
  12. I have not read the book in its entirety, but it is what it says it is. It is straight forward, easy to understand, step by step process of how to meditate as a beginner and how to get to advanced levels. It also has buddhism wisdom and science integrated.
  13. I agree with Moreira, I think this is great progress! Try questioning the fear, what particularly about being is scary? What does it mean for "you" if you observe being. I would imagine it is the fear of losing control as Moreira says.

I understand your reasoning here, testing it out, recreationally with friends, after a couple of beers, but there is reason why there are specifically defined protocols such as set and setting, setting intentions, meditating or getting grounded before dropping. It also sounds like you did it in the evening or at night which is why you were up all night, which indicates to me that you might've impulsively done it (I may be wrong). I plan ALL of my trips. I set an expected time to drop, I do all of my chores, I let my significant other know, I meditate, and set intentions in my mind. If things get real intense, I take big breathes and accept. Getting engaged in an activity such as coloring, drawing, playing an instrument, dancing, or singing, activities that feel organic, natural, and expressive is helpful as well. They can be used recreationally in a sense, but I think they require the person to be comfortable with the effects. A scenario can be doing it with a couple of trusting friends on a hiking trail. Even then, do not underestimate it, set intentions together. When people underestimate it, they can make bad decisions like mixing it with other drugs or risky behavior. You are better off overestimating than underestimating because if it gets intense or "hairy" you gotta be prepared to stay calm and ride it out. Always trip sober. and if there is a next time, do it right.
  15. Honestly as you start eating healthier, one's taste buds changes to appreciate the food, then junk food will taste "low quality". I think actually learning about nutrition in general helped with this change too, understanding macro and micro nutrients, plus experimenting with different foods. If you absolutely despise "Whole Foods" food and cant see giving up junk food, its gonna be tough time depending how attached you are to junk food. I would try to replace what you like about junk foods with healthier foods. If its fats and salt, eat salted peanuts, and if you like cookies, eat fruits instead. I also don't understand what you mean by healthy food? You don't find bananas and oranges tasty? You don't think grass-fed milk is tasteful. Salmon? Sometimes, it has to do with how you prepare it. If you're trying to avoid animal products, beans cooked with peppers, onions, mushrooms, salt, garlic, broccoli with olive oil is tasteful.

My most explicit and vivid experience was feeling my body go from solid (muscle, bones, and skin) to an energy wave... like my body was a field. I remember being blown away every moment by life. I saw my friend's face morph into different ethnicities, his skin was very fluid. I saw geometrical patterns on the walls of the room like they were tiles. I connected deeply to my friend too. a lot of different things. 4. Yes! if one is comfortable with psychedelics. No, if it is someone's first time.
  17. Honestly, when reading it, it sounds quite the same, but scientifically NLP has been discredited according to wiki. All therapy is neuro programming with language to me.   18. I agree man. I cannot say for others, but I do my best to stay authentic and to not follow blindly. I have great admiration for people like Leo, Alan Watts, Terence McKenna, a lot of musicians, but their understanding does nothing for me. So I follow the path and I see it for myself.
  19. Anything is possible. I personally have never experienced issues with energy besides needing to breath more, but I have also never done 5-meo DMT.

  21. Thats a good amount of time to integrate. and yes sometimes our families fears can make it worse. It's best to ignore all that and just surrender, believe that no matter what it will turn out alright, if you have taken the proper precautions. Even then!, if you accidentally consume, it is still best to believe it will turn out alright. Panicking always leads to worse outcomes.
  22. Faceless is right. as other as mentioned, practices such as gratitude, exercise, building deeper relationships with oneself and others will help you recognize things about yourself. Take this as you will, but I think the reason you're not feeling emotions strongly is because your blocking yourself from feeling them. In my experience, people with depression have one thing in the common and that is that they live strongly in the past. Their whole sense of self is strongly rooted from the past and especially in those painful memories. These painful moments teach us to not be vulnerable, resistant, and build walls. These mental walls are what directly able attribute to not being able to feel. In addition to thinking too much or retrieving one sense of self from the past which means one is not living in the body and is instead of head The path to feeling is through the present moment and body with no walls; however this means being vulnerable, but thats what living life is about. Maybe I'm generalizing my experience, so take my comment as a suggestion, I am not fully aware of your situation. I am more experienced with anxiety than depression in my life, but I have experienced symptoms of depression and suicidal thoughts before. When I am living in a state of peace it is because I Am present and not holding on to any sense of self.
  23. I agree with gleb here. My introduction to psychedelics was also like Gleb's. It was incredibly powerful and I had read all about it before trying it, but words did not capture actually being in that state. It was radical, surprising, and profound. If it wasn't for psychedelics I am not sure I would have even gotten into meditation. I originally got into meditation because I wanted a practice that would help sustain the state of mind that psychedelics showed me which is characterized by high awareness and being in the present moment. It opened me up to spirituality, my creativity, self-confidence, love, illusion of time, the list can go on, but I am thankful I found my way to them. In addition, I was into psychedelics before Leo tried them. I originally found Leo through his how to meditation videos in like 2013 and was quit confused when he said psychedelics were distractions, but we all change . I found them to be a huge catalyst towards my personal development.
