Heck, I'd even say, you're not truly in a meditative state unless you get rid of psychological time. -

Then you did not watch it closely enough. You asked for scientific research and that video has numerous sources (neuroscience) showing physical changes in the brain from 8 weeks of practice as well as improved length of telomeres. I don't see placebo doing any of that? It's not placebo because its not founded on belief or thinking. Meditation is literally an active process of self-regulation. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/11/151110171600.htm https://www.quora.com/Does-meditation-really-help-or-is-just-a-placebo -

It's not placebo... a regular meditation practice physical changes the brain structure and its connections. I don't even know how we are arguing this. Placebo can be succinctly defined "a beneficial effect, produced by a placebo drug or treatment, that cannot be attributed to the properties of the placebo itself, and must therefore be due to the patient's belief in that treatment." - google. Meditation is not about belief, there's no belief involved. Meditation forces you to have discipline, sit still, and quiet your mind. It's can be pretty much described as voluntary self-regulation. Performing actions such as these over and over causes physical changes in the brain, the same way that physical exercise will cause physical changes to the body and brain. It's way beyond belief and have you met any meditation masters? that level of attitude is not from placebo lol. I have feel that you must be very new to this practice or have little experience to think it is placebo when it clearly re-organizs your mind/brain each session. -

Hahaha yessss. I remember you posted last week about your first trip with LSD. I am happy to see you have tried it and that you had a mind-opening experience. I think it's pretty wild that you did ~450ug your first time (doing psychedelics?) thats a powerful dose. I can really relate to a lot of what you are saying in the post. It just goes to show how powerful psychedelics are at bringing you to the present and getting a good idea of what reality actually is. Sometimes it can be difficult to describe and pinpoint even consciously, which is why I think it is so important to have multiple experiences and have a daily meditation practice to increase focus and mindfulness. Thanks for sharing! -

I mean. Yeah you're right. I wouldn't say its like psychedelics, but It has a psychedelic qualities in the sense that it changes how you perceive things, colors get vibrant, and I had some deep experiences meditating with it. But I ultimately agree with what you're saying. I did not even know they had scientific evidence regarding non-dual states, I will definitely check this out! I think so too. I am not denying bad trips. People can definitely have bad experiences on them and be traumatized by them, but I always saw this a consequence of their personality, or set and setting. For example, it appears to me that people who can "go with the flow" are much more tolerant of the experience whereas someone who is rigid and requires control may freak out on them. Ultimately, its different for everyone and I am not interested in boxing people. I am only amazed each time I trip -

and you've had 0 mystical experiences?! . I do not think I would have even gotten into spirituality or at the level of understanding I am at with non-duality without psychedelics. Welp, everyone is different. Weed to me can be pretty psychedelic... especially when ingesting large amounts at once like a dab, but it makes my mind hazy, so I do not get clear insights like I do on mushroom and LSD. -

I have yet to hear a spiritual teacher say that enlightening is anything but a silent mind. The kundalini model is cool and useful, there is still much I have to learn about it, but it's still a model at the end of the day. There's nothing silent about worrying or thinking about these things. As @Prabhaker as said, its about doing these practices properly. Celibacy is ridiculous. Life is meant to be lived. There is nothing normal about excessively repressing one's nature. -

@Outer Have you tried any psychedelic? I am pretty sure Leo's experimentation with 5-meo is an attempt to go where no person/teacher has gone before. He has said that he wants to find whether or not 5-meo produces enlightening, helps with enlightenment, or does not. It's pretty much a scientific experiment with himself. -
From a psychology perspective. It is because you reinforce his behavior by giving him money, thus rewarding him for his behavior. What else is he going to do? He may be doing it to have contact with you, but at the end of the day he intuitively knows he can forget his money because you will give him money and then he will pay you back, its a cycle like any other.

It's one answer. The sound of a clap only occurs because of two hands. Unless the one hand is clapping against something else. -

I whole-heartedly disagree. Honestly, I don't know how you can say they are "flashy" and lack depth. They do not feel flashy nor of lacking depth. - It could also expose you to positive energy and angels if we are assuming this kind of model of the world. For all we know, angels and demons, or entities we see on psychedelics are really just our projections (notice how they have human personas?). There's no outside world, in non-dual state, inner and outer world collapse into one loop-like experience. All psychedelics are different too... I've never tried 5-meo DMT, but Leo has clearly said there are no visuals. They've already been used for thousands for spiritual purposes... One can also take smaller doses. I just feel like your assessment is exaggerated and lacks context. But I appreciate your differing opinion, it seems like you feel strongly about it due to your experiences. -

Whew! Too far for me. I am confident I can live a long life without drinking my own urine. -

I found Leo's dark side of meditation video helpful because its relatable. I don't know where you are on the path and what you mean by delusion, but be careful of shunning the mind and body. Yes, in the ultimate sense, all forms are illusions, but it's still God's will that forms appear and exist to itself, so appreciate the divinity that lies behind it all. I do not mean to project, if you did not find that helpful, that is great. Just like you say, its noise, and it will distract from the truthful reality that appears with a clear mind. -

You can grow without retreats, but retreats are probably helpful and conducive to one's growth. -
1. LSD and Mushrooms are equally intense substances, it all depends on dosage. You get visuals with both, you get spirituality with both, you get mindfucks with both. Further explanation: LSD hits you slower, but it lasts longer. Mushrooms hit you fast, like a roller coaster, but last shorter. I've found them to be equally enlightening and helpful. However, I do find some truth in saying that LSD = you in the "driver seat" and Mushrooms = you in the "Passenger seat". In addition, LSD feels more electric and energy boosting or at best neutral, where as mushrooms make me want to lay down and relax. 2. You test it. You can buy a testing kit on amazon that tests LSD. LSD should not taste bitter, it pretty much tastes like nothing. Psilocybin mushrooms have this bluish look in them and a particular smell. 3. This depends on the person... Mushrooms is definitely shorter acting and one should be quite okay after 4-6 hours (coming down). If I take it in the morning, I barely feel it at night, I just have this afterglow effect. LSD is like 6-8 hours (coming down), but you still slightly feel it after 12 hours and it won't go away until you sleep. However, I've still conversed with my family after 8 hours of taking LSD, your pupils may still be dilated though. 4. This depends on the person. One can meditate and set intentions. Or one can just take a breathe and say "okay let's do this". I would say at the very least, learn about the substance, its effects, read people's trips reports. Listen to some of pioneers talk about it, Terence McKenna or Timothy Leary Advice: Just know what you're in for and try to keep your head straight... Understand what is happening, have fun with it, but also observe from a honest-serious perspective. Also I do not think it is necessary to be so formal... You don't need to sit there and meditate or try to be forceful. I actually recommend the opposite, do what you want, lay around on your coach if you want; look at your hands, play an instrument, take a shower/bath, do yoga or meditate, dance, sing, read the Bible or Quran, it doesn't really matter. These are some of the things I have done alone with psychedelics. No matter what, you will be in a higher level of consciousness and processing everything differently, let the trip take you where your heart is.

I agree, that is a good video idea. For anyone struggling with this. I highly recommend waiting before making any permanent decisions and seek the wisdom of various teachers. Really contemplate, meditate on it, take a walk, hang out with good friends, do your favorite activity, or not, but just wait. In addition, start to cultivate love when you're ready and new door will be opened. -
I think you need to be more straight forward. I don't think hiding it or ignoring it is working. It may communicate that what happened was okay. in a nutshell: Seek counseling to process your feelings. Confront your brother and tell him that you will call the police and tell your parents if he even gives you an impression of sexual feelings. I also think you should tell your parents. You are not ruining his life. He ruined his own life by committing his selfish actions. Sexual assault and rape are serious issues and its not normal. The way you're feeling is normal to such as an abnormal experience. You think his actions are unacceptable and you have stuff to say. You have to make how you feel clear. Stand up for yourself. I am truly sorry you had to experience something terrible like that from a family member. I hope you heal.

Hey Leo, During last blog video when you took 5-meo multiple days in a row, I was wondering, what dosage did you use? did you do multiple high dosages, multiple low dosages, or slowly progress from low to high? Btw, that blog video was awesome! One of your best videos.

yeah but you can't deny the helpful effects psychedelics have. I think Leo is pointing towards the fact that 5-meo is the most helpful tool to directly experience reality. I agree that you don't need psychedelics, but psychedelics will straight up blow your mind and there's no stopping it. It can take a year or two just to get good at meditation and experiential understanding of the process; whereas psychedelics will immediately, without a doubt, take you there. -

1. He was creating stuff. 2. Technically we created the idea of God by realizing him, we brought him into awareness. In God dimension, there's no such as thing as time, before, after, creation, death or any of that, it's just Pure God which is so unbelievably everything that it cannot be captured. -
SgtPepper replied to Ether's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
God is everything. One can find Him through direct experience in silence and surrender. Proof of God is the fact that existence exists. God is not concrete like a physical object nor can you put God in a box or turn God into a concept, it's futile. There's no scientific evidence because you can't use God to measure itself, it doesn't make any sense. -

*silence* 1. Unless they have a heart problem, they should be okay taking traditional psychedelics like LSD or Psilocybin mushrooms. I know they have had trials giving mushrooms to cancer patients in order to reduce death anxiety (https://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/22/magazine/how-psychedelic-drugs-can-help-patients-face-death.html). In addition, Aldous Huxley took it before as he died from cancer. However, I think it will be quite impossible to know whether your parents or grandmother can handle it without a medical doctors opinion. Here is a 61 year old person taking mushrooms : 2. We do exist eternally, just not our egos. So when Leo says we don't exist. He's talking about our ego/sense of self which relies on distinctions/separations. Feeling, thoughts, emotions are transient and uphold the ego, meaning the ego is transient hence why people think we die. However, the "space" in which all of that is happening in - consciousness, awareness, emptiness - call it what you want, that is eternal and infinite. It can be hard to explain if people don't recognize the temporary nature of life, it goes by moment to moment, dying and creating. Some people can get confused and think their bodies or sense of self lives forever, but that would be incorrect. It is not something to be sad about because when we "die", we truly get to know ourselves, which is the self that is never born and never dies. -
SgtPepper replied to John Iverson's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yeah I am not even saying any of that negative stuff is likely to happen. I just think its good to be made aware that it CAN and does happen to some people. I personally think as long as set and setting is accounted for, you take it wisely with good intentions and you're open, it should go very well. It can be very euphoric and pleasing as well. This man claimed to have taken it 311 times... and he seems perfectly fine: -

"All distinction collapse" into one being, thats why people say there IS an absolute one God. -

Because there is no scientific evidence. Checkmate theists. Side note: I'm playing devil's advocacy here.
