@hoodrow trillson How does it end?

@EmptyVase YES!! Jacob Collier Love~

@NoSelfSelf Logical methods such as mathematics are supposedly grounded in "definitions" and "axioms," so actually it is not an infinite regress. Of course, we must still wonder about the nature of definitions and axioms if we're serious about Truth.

I was critiquing DAILY high intensity exercise. Obviously high intensity exercise is good, but not daily. You WILL be prone to injury. -
RendHeaven replied to Some Fella's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
A lot of this is toxic as fuck Firstly: "Daily high intensity physical exercise" sounds like a one-way road to injury and being out of commission. People always underestimate the importance of rest days until they inevitably learn the hard way... (that's what happened to me, too) It's far better to have 2-3 intense days in the week, and the other days are light workouts/movements. Secondly: "Blast ego-death doses of psychedelics every single day" shows that you are completely and utterly underestimating psychedelics. Your insistence on "ego-death doses" and "every single day" shows immaturity. You see them as a tool for personal gain and in your head you think, "yeah it's worth abusing them for GROWTH!" Think of psychedelics as ALIVE. Think of them as a wise master where you have to earn each other's trust. Your approach lacks patience, reverence, and wonder. Your approach fundamentally misunderstands growth, thinking that it is a straight shot upwards whereas it really comes in waves and plateaus. Regression is a part of progression, and NOT taking psychedelics is a part of taking psychedelics. This notion of "ego-death" is also really interesting, it looks to me like you believe "ego death" to be a part of you dying (that is, you think "my ego" is going to be the one dying instead of "ME"), but no, "ego death" is identical to literal death. It will be no different than putting a gun to your forehead and pulling the trigger. Contemplate why you are so excited to have an "ego death" on psychedelics, but you won't go and get a gun, put it to your forehead, and pull the trigger. Thirdly: "Don't think ever, lengthen the gaps between thoughts as long as possible" is deeply problematic. You are inventing an "on/off switch" in your mind and then exerting an effort to put the "off" switch on a pedestal while attempting to discard the "on" switch (all of this is self-deception). There is nothing enlightened about this. Enlightenment is about letting go and acceptance (regardless of outcome). You are training yourself to hold on to specific outcomes (i.e. "don't think ever") and everything you propose is secretly a way to NOT accept yourself as you are right this moment. "This could serve as a way to measure our progress towards becoming imperturbable super-beings, lords of the earth & sky." This shows that you're really in it for personal gain. Maybe you were joking about the "lords of the earth & sky" bit, but just the fact that "becoming imperturbable" is the measure of your spirituality makes it very clear that what you really want is the inability to be hurt (probably because you are hurting, right now), as well as a feeling of superiority. Enlightenment is about Truth and Love. Not invincibility or superiority. -
I feel for you brother, my story is extremely similar to yours. This was YOU a week ago (maybe it still is you): This is what you know you could be one day: A piece of this is already within you, you're just choosing not to tend to it.

@Thestarguitarist14 lol ya I have zero matches because i'm currently in a super rural area during the pandemic. ... probably doesn't help that i almost never swipe right

Media vs Reality is great!

Even more fundamentally: Direct experience will tell you nothing about flattened vs curved, this dichotomy is an interpretation that disguises itself as "direct experience"

Why is E = mc^2? Why not mc^3? There seem to be extremely specific measurements of the cosmos that reveal themselves time and time again. How is this a limit of science? Are you telling me E could literally be something other than mc^2? Have you seen it NOT be mc^2 or are you just making that up? If you retort, "well E and m and c and the process of squaring are all symbolic and arbitrary," I might still be unsatisfied because isn't it the case that these symbols are supposed to represent real empirical things such as mass? Even if I called mass by a different symbol, my skinny-140lbs-ass has undeniably less mass than an obese person. And ultimately, even if you concede that these sciences are a "relative Truth," isn't that a sneaky way to dismiss a Truth nonetheless? Why can't we just say "this is True?"

Lol Orange thinking he is above green. The most common trope~

RendHeaven replied to SpYITB's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SpYITB Yes, of course words are limited. However, that doesn't mean that all words serve the same function equally. "Infinity" at the very least vaguely points to imaginations of limitlessness for most people, whereas your proposed "dkhdjhfj" does not. That's the key here: limitlessness. It exists. It is here. Leo speaks of this. -

@Forestluv Yes, when Pence framed fracking as good ("for the economy," though it's apparent that he's saying that to please his billion-dollar fossil fuel industry donors) or when he framed the Green New Deal as an evil authoritarian movement that is out to "destroy the American economy," Harris sort of just let it happen. Would of LOVED to see her hold her ground with iron conviction and blow apart these pathetic, twisted perspectives, but you're right that she is absolutely appealing to "centrists." -

@Carl-Richard Interesting stuff. How do psychs fit into this picture? -
RendHeaven replied to benmitchell2812's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
100% agree. People with love-based strength don't tout this distinction as a brand though. When every other word out of Mr. Hulse's mouth is "alpha," you know that's some fear shit -
RendHeaven replied to benmitchell2812's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This alpha/beta shit physically hurts to read. The existence of cringey + myopic beliefs like this are exactly why it's in one's interest to "let the mind go blank." -
@Raze What a godly passage. There's a lot to learn there about being selfless.

I honestly don't know if I'm INTP or INFP. Two years ago I would easily have been the former but recently I'm leaning toward the latter...

RendHeaven replied to upstream's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, for sure. I was just noting that it IS a possibility. Never say never, ya know? But you're right, spiritual dabblers will show their colors sooner or later. Everyone (myself included) believes themselves to be serious, amazing to watch -
RendHeaven replied to upstream's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Actually it's definitely possible, some mainstream enlightened masters are notorious for their material wealth (think Osho) At a certain level of mastery, the difference between hedonism vs asceticism dissolves. The "problem," as I see it (and I think you'll agree) is that total newbies or intermediates will pretend that they have overcome this duality and that they are already masters. -
RendHeaven replied to upstream's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@OBEler Just pointing to some potential self-deception, that's what -
RendHeaven replied to upstream's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@OBEler Maybe you're not as serious as you believe yourself to be -
I love your background
