  1. @Thestarguitarist14 You make good points. According to Leo, stage Yellow does indeed have a "lone wolf" attitude. Solitude is my default as well. I resonate with your view very personally. I generally find friends to be a distraction, many are inauthentic (especially at my age pfftt), and exploring loneliness is most healing for me personally. That being said, I do recognize that having a band of mature, high quality friends is an experience I've never had - and it's something that I would like to try some day.
  2. @The_Searcher Wow how does one go from being a new ager to stage blue Christianity LOL? A treasured sight indeed
  3. @Origins Hey there, It'd be helpful if you'd rephrase your insight in layman's terms for us normies I have a feeling that what you've written is useful, but it's clouded in pretentious language.
  4. Haha, maybe you're right~
  5. I was born and raised Orange until around age 17. Around age 18, a lot of combined factors helped me see deep relativity in everything, and I shot straight up to Yellow. At this point I knew that I was at Yellow because I finally saw all of the limitations of my previous Orange world view, I stopped demonizing Green and accepted that different people have different points of view, and most importantly began seeing the interconnectedness and relativity of all perspectives. Leo's "SD Stage Yellow" video really spoke to my soul at that time. I didn't think much of the way I skimmed past Green since I knew in my heart that I had a general acceptance for its values. Around age 19, my girlfriend at the time opened me up to a flood of blind spots that forced me to re-investigate Green: - The way I would exude an embodied rationality (energetically) even though intellectually I denounced rationality. - The way I would implicitly hold my wholistic perspective as superior despite telling myself that I was neutral. - The way I saw female rights issues from the lens of a male, despite claiming to have an eagle-eye view. - The way I saw animal rights issues from the lens of a human, despite claiming to have an eagle-eye view. - The way I saw politics from a "centrist" perspective without realizing that being a "centrist" is biasing the current status-quo (which harms the underprivileged). - The way that my modus operandi was to be understood by others as opposed to understanding others. For example, correcting people's opinions by constantly "going meta" on them was a way to pursue being understood without trying to understand. - The way that I considered "energy," "spirit," and "love" to be supplementary conditions (as opposed to being of utmost importance). Having turned 21, I've willingly become Green (as opposed to philosophizing about it as a bystander), and this has made my perspective even more meta. I would consider myself fully-Yellow (Yellow to the point that its limitations are weighing on me) after 4 years of inner work, starting at stage Orange. My next project is actually to deep-dive into Blue (hah, you thought I'd say Turquoise? ) in the same way that I did with Green. Based on my story, I would say that realization of each stage will take at least a minimum of 1 whole year, with embodiment taking an additional +1 year. I doubt that my case is representative of the average person: I've been blessed with a Yellow-ish intuition from a young age, and that has really helped guide me. I imagine that a person who's entire identity is entrenched in Blue, Orange, or Green for decades will have to go through 5+ years of work before they expand.
  6. 1) Yes, I acknowledge(d) this. 2) I personally don't see @ivory being "stuck." I don't doubt that your journey is filled with valuable insights. The way in which you describe the world has some truth to it
  7. @PurpleTree Hey, I apologize for the passive-aggressiveness in my responses As you can tell, covid response is something I'm attached to. I'm working on being more understanding of views that disagree with my attachments.
  8. I'd wager that you haven't plumped the depths of green as much as you think you have. Leo once said something to this effect (paraphrasing): "You're not really green until you're a feminist socialist vegan activist~ " Taking veganism, for example, there is a qualitative difference in understanding between looking at + judging a vegan as a non-vegan vs actually taking on the ethos for yourself and trying out the lifestyle (+ being horrified at the way you once ate meat haha). To really get green and to experience all of its joys, you need to put your skin in the game and actually become green even if you already fancy yourself evolved and tier-2. This is a lesson that I am still personally learning. Now, I don't know any of your personal history/struggles/evolutions. Maybe I'm preaching to the choir. Nonetheless, this attitude of, "You do realize that there are levels past Green right?" (not to mention all of your past replies in this thread) gives the impression of snarky misunderstanding; of someone who is judging from the outside instead of someone who has explored to the point of deep understanding. I'm not saying this as a way to frame you as wrong: please don't take it that way. I am only suggesting the possibility of more expansive attitudes
  9. Didn't realize Bach fugues were still in style~ I love the vid you shared! I think you'll enjoy this:
  10. To that, I'd ask: why would you assume science and Truth are the same thing? You're right: if you explore the possibility that science is not the same as Truth, you are making an assumption about Truth. However, if you don't explore this possibility, you are still making an assumption about Truth. Even if you claim that you are removing the concept of Truth out of the picture entirely, that is also a(n assumptive) Truth claim. At every level, (the notion of) Truth is inescapable.
  11. @FlowerNote Science obviously "works." The question is not what "works." The question is what is TRUE. Truth and science are not the same thing. This is obvious when you realize for yourself that your current understanding of science is filled with groundless assumptions. You have to realize this for yourself. That is why contemplation is necessary. Truth is very personal. It is inevitably entangled with your understanding. Even if you imagine that Truth is somehow an "objective external thing independent of my understanding," ^that itself IS an understanding and a Truth claim. And again, you must ask yourself, "is it True?" > Yes = a groundless assumption > No = not-knowing You cannot escape the entanglement of Truth and your personal understanding. Underneath your empire of groundless assumptions is a deep not-knowing which you conveniently ignore. You must face this not-knowing head-on before you can arrive at Truth. That is why contemplation is necessary, and this is why modern science is limited.
  12. @PurpleTree That's fair! As you can tell, I clearly have skin in the game. The US' covid response feels very real from my perspective, and I take issue with the idea that Trump is free of responsibility. This is tricky for sure. How do you acknowledge universal interconnectedness, while also holding really shitty people accountable? I personally resonate with Leo's approach - being tough on devilry from a place of love but not energetically wrapped up in it. You're right that a lot of people here simply hate Trump for the sake of hate. That's the difference between SD stage Yellow+ (Leo) and SD stage Green-
  13. Obviously. But just because "there are no rules," that doesn't mean that running around and attaching yourself to worldly images is the most conscious way to lead your life. Maybe replace "spirituality" with "desire for conscious living" Does that change anything?
  14. """Bro""" you're dancing around the truth in order to preserve your current limited understanding. Has it ever occurred to you that Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Chile, and Bolivia had TRASH leadership as well? Here, the Brazil version of the aforementioned meme: I (& others) have given you real reasons why the US is suffering under Trump, and all you have said is, "haha look other countries suck also," as if that somehow absolves Trump of all of his fuck-ups. No. Trump sucks, and so do the leaders of the countries you've mentioned. "Two wrongs don't make a right." Try squaring up to the fact that some large countries are NAILING covid response.
  15. Good observation. Right on the money Let's imagine though that we are a sexy, confident, and valuable guy (hah). That is to say, our desire for a "hot girl" is no longer a pathetic plea of obvious deficiency. Now, is our desire for this "hot girl" in conflict with spirituality? One thought is, "No. We must allow ourselves to feel what we feel without suppressing or resisting." An opposing thought might be, "Yes. Preference is a self-serving attachment or bias; we must learn to let go." Maybe it's both? Neither?
  16. Jesus christ my volume was all the way up and then the moans just happened and I had to scramble to mute
  17. ^This is huge. After all of his fuckups, when people inevitably confront him he ALWAYS falls back on, "It's China's fault!" It's so childish and low IQ. Like a 5 year old blaming his brother for his own mistakes. It's so rich that republicans, the party of "personal responsibility" (or at least so they claim), lap up his lies. This made me chuckle! I think I'll adopt this phrase for the future...
  18. I'm assuming you saw this? Watch it again if you need to. You're trying to argue and wrap your head around it. Watch out. What is that? ... What should you do instead, if you actually want to understand?
  19. Hey @Ananta if you see this, I'm curious to know your honest reaction to what Ivory and Michael (lovely guys) have said. I know that your general perspective is that visual criteria are ultimately shallow (I intellectually agree but not emotionally) I also know that at the end of the day you're most likely to say, "you do you man" Still, I'd like to know how these male-centered perspectives look from an experienced female perspective.
  20. Bro you're just factually incorrect & misinformed. The US has the highest total covid cases and covid deaths of any country by FAR. This is not an accident that was out of our control. We could have prevented this with better leadership. It's literally a meme: I already hear you, "yeah but the US has one of the largest populations so that's expected!" That's such a feeble argument. We're dealing with actual human lives here, don't be so apathetic. There are measurable LACK OF ACTIONS by Trump (who has responsibility for action as our leader) that has lead to such a large death toll. From dismantling the already established pandemic response team, to not banning travel earlier despite being continually advised to do so (with the exception of China because he hates China), from not encouraging a serious lockdown +monetary compensation out of economic fear (which ironically has destroyed the economy moreso than if he actually would have committed, like other countries) to generally downplaying the severity of the pandemic by discouraging mask wearing, hosting super-spreader rallies, blatantly contradicting and lying about what top scientists have said, etc. There are similarly large countries that are currently thriving because their leaders have taken swift, serious action: for example, Japan who's total population is roughly 38% of America's and yet they only have 2% of the cases & deaths.
  21. @ivory @Michael569 Wow, this is extremely illuminating. I've written a bit about my struggles with physical beauty in my journal - but mostly from the perspective that I "ought to stop being so shallow" Are you guys really telling me that I AM allowed to be shallow? I have lots to ponder...
  22. @BipolarGrowth That seems unnecessarily binary. You're seeing hierarchy (and therefore corruption, because one spawns the other) as either "yes" or "no," and arguing that "yes" is inevitable. Thus, you're able to justify mass expansion despite all of the harm it would cause. A more nuanced view is that corruption comes in degrees. Leo is currently attempting to stick to the lower end of that spectrum, out of compassion for others and love for his work (he has publicly declared this in the past). Your current argument of, "Well corruption is inevitable anyway so we might as well go all-out!" is lacking this nuanced view
