  1. Owen's got his heart in the right place. Honestly he could have retired a long time ago. He genuinely loves helping people. He's not doing it for the money.
  2. It is promising that Jack is involved. However, moderation will have to exist for Twitter to be healthy. And it will have to be significant moderation of hate speech and misinformation. There is no way that hate speech and misinformation will just police itself. No way. Jack and Musk are not magicians. A healthy online forum only comes with proper policing.
  3. Las Vegas only exists in your present mind. Your mind is the mind of God. For example, during my deepest awakenings I would become conscious that Hitler, Albert Einstein, all my ex girlfriends, my parents, and all my memories are figments of my current Mind. In other words, I create them RIGHT NOW. This is the mindfuck to end all mindfucks. When you reach this deep you will not believe it is possible. This is true awakening. Accepting it is the hardest part. Every fiber of your being will refuse to accept it. You do not want to accept this degree of aloneness. You are going to scramble to invent some "other" to comfort you, and so you will fall back into the dream as a little self. You are not ready to accept that your Mind constructs EVERYTHING.
  4. I understand that but it's too much. I don't need someone yelling at me for 1hr+ in order to get the information. It actually hurts my ability to listen because it's over-stimulating.
  5. He looks like a hero even in your report. He's not "staging himself", he's fighting a fucking war with Russia. He's President. He's not supposed to be running around shooting Russians with a rifle.
  6. If you want to grow, stop paying women for sex and learn to attract them naturally.
  7. He's pretty obnoxious to listen to comfortably. I like his old chill style way better. But his ideas are still good. A revolution does not solve serious problems, it's mostly just useless drama. We don't need a revolution, we need competent leadership and governance. We can't solve our problems by flailing our arms around.
  8. I've gone fairly long time without jerking off. It doesn't give me more energy, just makes me stupidly horny.
  9. There isn't a how. It's 100% direct. A fork is a fork. That is the how. A fork is forking. A knife is knifing. A rock is rocking. Etc. You could say that. The Matthew self is part of the arising content.
  10. Manipulated by mass media? There is nothing damning in that video. It's just a basic recounting of him which you can find in mass media if you bother to know all those details. Nothingburger. Zelensky rose to the occasion and outperformed all expectations in a war that everyone thought he would lose. If that's not great leadership then what is?
  11. But that's exactly what current Twitter moderation is like. It pisses off mostly the extreme right and left. People in the middle 80% are not tripping over Twitter's guidelines. So this makes no sense. Where are the problematic cases of Twitter censorship? This is the real question for Musk.
  12. It's a big open question how much of Twitter will actually be changed. It may not get much change.
  13. You're not getting it. You are constructing reality. There is nothing against which to compare or ground the distinctions you create iin, other than more distinctions you create.
  14. Owen has some great ideas, just don't get into the conspiracy stuff. Take his practical social and spiritual advice.
  15. Distinctions are what constitute everything. It's not a bug that you can't tell what is real vs what is imaginary, it's a feature. Whichever distinctions your mind makes and holds become your new reality.
  16. Well, yeah, truth wins out in the long-run. But it was close. The problem is that half the country does not watch legit media, they are stuck in a right-wing MAGA echo-chamber where truth cannot penetrate.
  17. This would be my fundamental critique of the whole Ken Wilber Integral movement and what stuff like Conscilience project is doing. They are being super abstract to the point where it has no real-world impact. You can do all the meta-theorizing and integral-mapping you want, but at the end of the day in 2024 people just gotta go and vote against Trump. It's not that complicated. Even reading the above article it was so abstract and philosophical that I had a hard time seeing how it would apply to current politics and solve anything. It's like being a philosopher in the middle of a prison brawl. In the domain of politics you need to be very practical, otherwise it ends up just being empty talk. But at the same time you cannot be purely ends-justify-the-means oriented. You still gotta have principles and integrity and operate with consciousness. The biggest takeaway for me here is that going meta can be weaponized by the ego-mind. This is a very important point to never forget, and check yourself if your ego is using going meta in that way.
  18. Media has been corrupted, bought off, and even does his bidding because it earns them money. And many citizens don't watch the good media they watch the stuff that tickles their reptilian brain -- which Trump is a master of exploiting.
  19. Corporations are not some monolith. They have competing interests and agendas, and they don't control politicians like dogs on a chain. It's more loose than that. 1) I don't think it's true most corp Dems want to increases taxes much. 2) Politicians are influenced by money. Which means, they have some set of ideals and then money gets them to do otherwise or to "compromise".
  20. @Virtually It's a good article. Thanks for sharing.
  21. The bigger problem I see with going meta is that it can create a sort of relativism or false equivalency and also inaction. I noticed this happening in myself for example with the Russia/Ukraine war. When it first started I was focused a lot on seeing both sides and going meta. But then it became increasing clear that action was needed, not more meta. So it's important to go meta but then you also gotta balance it out with pragmatism otherwise some evil force will exploit your meta navel-gazing.
  22. Because corporations fund most of the Dems and Republicans. Corporate influence goes way beyond just the right-wing.
