You cannot avoid belief in yourself because you are the only thing that exists. The only question is are you doing this consciously or unconsciously. Unconsciously means appealing to others to tell you what is true. Grasp that no one can ever tell you what is true. This is just an epistemic fact. Your attachment style is irrelevant.
