Dating a powerful and wealthy man allows the woman to not need to do serious grueling work. She can live a playful life, like a spiritual bunny. So a lot of this whole scenario also speaks to the corruption of upper-class lifestyle. Upper-class people are incapable of serious spirituality because they are too seduced by glamor and their social games. They love to talk about love, but that love is happening exclusively within a frame of upper-class luxury and leisure. If it wasn't, they wouldn't love it. It's the love of a beautiful life made possible by wealth, status, and power. The lesson here for men is that if you set up an awesome lifestyle, women will put up with a lot more of your BS.
