Generally yes. Although if you're having a bad trip I supposed you'd want it to last less. But I've never really encountered that issue. For me the longer the trip the better. Even plugging is far too short. For me an ideal trip would last 5-10hrs.

Trump was the source of his own undoing -- which I have also said would be the case from the beginning. If Trump handled Covid even half-decently he probably had a decent chance of re-election. However he made so many mistakes in so many ways on so many issues that of course he ended up pissing off enough voters to lose. That's what happens when you are exceedingly narcissistic AND incompetent. The simple fact is that Trump is too radical to represent the majority of Americans. And nothing he says or does will ever change that. If he wins, it's going to be through some kind of manipulations of our lopsided electoral college system. He will never win a majority of votes. Because decent people won't vote for a creature such as him, and the majority of Americans are petty decent, regardless of their political beliefs.

Monk's life is easy only when there is no other option. What people don't understand is that being a monk is a survival strategy, just like working at Starbucks is a survival strategy. It makes sense for certain people under certain conditions. It does not make sense to be a monk when other, better opportunities exist. But for many people throughout history there were no better opportunities and so becoming a monk was right for them. Being a monk is not just a choice about enlightenment, it's even more so a choice about survival. How are you going to survive? This question is independent of enlightenment. It doesn't matter how woke you become, you will still have to answer that question.

Zelensky's been itching for international war from the beginning because from his POV his country is already fully in the thick of it and it can't get much worse for them. So he's a biased actor and that needs to always be kept in mind with anything he says because it's like he's talking with a gun up to his head.

The Republican base is not ditching Trump. The leadership can hate Trump all they want, but the base will not allow anyone else to win in the primary. This is exactly what happened in 2015. The Republican leadership never liked Trump, they were forced into accepting him by the base. The same will happen again. DeSantis doesn't need the drama and the danger. DeSantis is smarter than that. He can let Trump take this primary and run next time. DeSantis is so young he will be able to run for President for the next 20 years. There is no rush. It would be foolish to risk pissing off the Republican base by going to war with their favorite candidate. Yet if he lets Trump run unopposed, DeSantis is pretty much guaranteed the slot in 2028. It's clear from his speeches that he's smart enough not to directly attack Trump or his supporters. It is much wiser for him to sit back and watch Trump implode. My bet is, that's his plan.

I predict DeSantis will not even run. He would be foolish to.

I have long-ago said that Trump was a one-trick pony who only own the first time because people did not properly know him. Now everyone knows his game and while he has 30% hardcore fans, that is not enough to win elections. The only way I think Trump can win is if Biden screws something up royally or just drops dead and there is no decent replacement. Mostly this Trump campaign will be Trump's greatest grift. He will squeeze every penny he can out of anyone dumb enough to follow him.

Dems just need to focus on doing a good just governing. Good governance speaks for itself. Moderates will be convinced by good governance and serious candidates who are not strong ideologues. The strategy is basically: be a decent human being, have some positive vision, and govern effectively.

If you were born in 21st century USA it would be hard. What was there to do in 1900s India? In a certain sense a monk's life is the easiest and cowardliest. My life would be so easy if I didn't have to work. For Maharshi the most challenging life would be to be the CEO of a large company. It only sounds demoralizing to those who have no vision. You could be using these tools to make much better and more art. Which great artists are already starting to do. It's silly to get demoralized over evolution.

Overall it's a net loss given the House. They will now run sham hearings and committees to obstruct everything they can. The biggest problem is that there's just no decent governance possible unless Dems have all 3 branches, which is really dysfunctional.
