No. God is asleep. Lol. No. Consciousness is consciousness. You can't redefine it. -
Leo Gura replied to SamC's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Not really. No. If anything it removes the distinction of self vs world and you melt into it. You do not have anything close to infinite consciousness. Be careful kidding yourself about that. No, that is not enough. You actually require a higher state of consciousness. Nothing can substitute for a high state of consciousness. No amount of work. -

That's what life is for. To figure out all the details of that. It's not easy but it is possible. There is no algorithm for how. There are many, many ways. -

Because it's just acknowledging what you are. Let's say you found Truth, what then? I bring my Godness into the sex or whatever. When you realize you're God, you will also realize a deep compassion for yourself and your desires. God doesn't need you to surrender all your desires, that's actually ego talking. God would love for you to explore whichever desires you desire. God can allow itself to be selfish because it is selfless. If you want to buy yourself a Porsche Taycan, God will say: "Okay, buy it and enjoy it." God is not going to say, "No you selfish fuck, that's wrong!" -

Not only is it possible, there's no other option. -

I don't know what that means. You can keep developing your self/mind forever. I think it's far more realistic to embrace your desires and indulge them as long as they aren't crazy toxic like the desire to shoot up a school. Obviously shouldn't indulge that. But if you have a desire for porn, for example, I would indulge it. And I do Honestly, after my deepest awakening, it's made me embrace my desires more. I am more honest with myself about my animalistic desires. I have no problem being hedonistic at times. I've dropped the spiritual act of being above desire, and this is actually growth. For example, in the middle of my deepest awakening I got the desire/vision to start a love triangle / threesome with 2 girlfriends. And there was zero shame in that. I'm not saying I'm acting out on it, but I'm also not saying I would not. Basically, I allow myself whatever pleasure I want which doesn't harm others much. My range of future behavior is more open than ever, but also I have less need to act selfishly because I'm more conscious than ever. And still, I allow myself to act selfishly too! -

You could make that case. Maybe there's some merit to it. But I wouldn't overblow it. It's being framed as though Dr K killed the guy. What I see is that Dr K was doing his best to help him, and he had a few slip-ups. This is not a good reason to trash him. You guys understand that in real therapy clients can kill themselves too? It's not like the therapist is some kind of savoir. Most people who go to therapists don't improve. In fact I would bet that most therapists are mediocre and harm their clients by over-prescribing drugs. Just because it's legal and "ethical" doesn't mean it helps people truly grow and heal, or avoid suicide. The difference here is that when a client kills himself within private therapy, no one knows about it so there cannot be any outrage. But when it's all live-streamed, it's ripe for a Twitter outrage mob, lead by Mr Girl. -
I didn't just create websites, I launched websites, marketed them, and made lots of sales through them. I earned lots of money doing that. Way more than a salary job could ever pay. Game designers are not paid very well. I was making $45k/yr as an entry level game designer in Boston. I was making $150k-$200k/yr off my website(s) and my partner was making that much as well. So actually the gross of our site was close to $400k/yr at its peak. I'm not going to get into that. It worked for me, but it came at significant cost to my mental well-being and it's not easy to pull it off. Internet marketing has changed A LOT in the last 10 years since I stopped doing it. So I cannot say what works today. The stuff that I did 10 years ago will no longer work. The internet is a different beast. But of course there are always new opportunities to make lots of money online. I just can't help you there. But you can also make a shit-load of money in games. If you know how to develop great games. Huge money can be made in almost any industry. Pick whichever you love most. It's possible to make a game that earns $100 million in profit. See Stardew Valley as one example. Minecraft made billions.

Yes, psychedelics are a catalyst for the psyche. They can speed up an upward ascent to heaven or a downward descent into hell. -

To be fair to him, I spoke to him and he had some deep insights and awakenings. But that doesn't guarantee mature behavior in the relative world. Mixing legit awakening with mental disorder + immaturity + a stage Orange level of development is a recipe for trouble. And that's what unfolded. Awakening != development Don't forget that development is hugely important. Awakening is not the only thing we pursue here. We also do a lot of development work. Those of you who are not ready for the highest awakening can just stick around for the development aspects of this work and enjoy a good normal life. -

I didn't say they were fully awake. I said "had an awakening". 1 awakening doesn't mean much and doesn't change much about your behavior. Obviously it's not wise. A person with mental illness (like Connor Murphy) can have an awakening and then decide to shoot up a school. They are connected but the ego-mind is a stubborn beast that will remain for years and years, doing it's devilish things. That's not even a matter of awakening. Connor Murphy is just very shallow and immature. He's very young. He's an attention whore. That's baked into his ego-mind and it will take him decades of work to outgrow that. I have immature aspects of my mind as well. It will take me years to grow out of that too. You can't really compare a 20 year old awakened person to a 30 year old to a 60 year old one. Maturity is a huge factor there and it matters. Young people do and say dumb things. The younger they are the dumber they are. Deep wisdom comes with age and massive experience. -

@Bobby_2021 It's just not a good use of your time to sit there and try to rank the levels of awakening of every spiritual teacher you've heard of. I am not going to be ranking each teacher for you. I have my personal suspicions but this is not something scientific. As you listen to teachers and teachings you get a subtle sense of who's realized what and what they haven't realized. And then you realize that even all that is just a distraction from your own awakening. You want to reach a point where you don't care at all any more about any spiritual teacher or teaching. You're going to throw all of it in the trash once you seriously awaken. Thank fucking God that I don't need to read another spiritual book or listen to another spiritual teacher ever again. This is the place you wanna reach. -

Yeah, I saw that part. But I though Dr K did a very professional and wise thing to carefully take back his over-promise. Again, it's not like therapists can't make mistakes. Dr K made a mistake in the moment out of empathy and then later reflected on the impracticality of his promise and explained to Reckful what happened. This is the proper way to handle such a mistake. But you have to consider the alternative: Reckless sitting at home alone without anyone at all to talk to. Which is why he keeps saying "This is not therapy". Dr K is doing coaching. And there is no licensing for coaching. I don't understand why Dr K doesn't just call it online life coaching. -

But the whole point is that he's not doing therapy and these are not his clients. Obviously he was trying to help Reckless by being his friend when on one else would. I agree that over-promising is a problem. But was Dr K not there for him? What happened exactly? Also, don't forget, therapists can make mistakes. Mr Girl, yes. On the whole, Dr K's project to help gamers with psychological issues is a very good one. Call it whatever you want. Call it life coaching or therapy or whatever. It's needed. People kill themselves every day anyways. -
Yup, hence the need to train it. That's easy. As long as she clears your looks threshold -- that is, you'd we happy sleeping with a girl who looks like that -- then you approach and get to know her personality. If her personality sucks then you politely move on to the next girl. No one is forcing you to sleep with her just because you approach her. Get her number, take her on a date, see how you like her personality. Then sleep with her if you do. Otherwise you don't have to keep seeing her beyond the 1st date. This is what dating is for. Yes, lower your standards initially. You won't be sleeping with most of these girls anyway. You gotta practice first. If you see a Wow girl, def approach, but don't only look for Wow girls starting off. You need practice and you don't even care about looks that much. Of course Honestly, at your current stage you should be talking to anyone with a vagina. You need basic practice socializing with strangers.

That??!! That is the scandal? Ahahahahaha.... Mr Girl is turning into a professional troll. -

The only one who can awaken is you. Forget about Sadhguru, he's just a dream. Forget about me too while you're at it. -
Sounds like awakening

What is this tempest in a teapot scandal? I would rather have Dr. K talking to gamers than no one talking to them -- which would be the most likely scenario if he stopped talking to them. Not to mention how many people are helped who tune in to watch the show. The notion that these gamers were gonna go find their own therapists if not for Dr K is laughable to me. What am I missing in this scandal?? I haven't watched all the videos. -

1) Because survival require selfish zero-sum actions. Or you die. Even for Jesus Christ or The Buddha to live he must walk, step on, and kill many ants. Awakening does not make you an angel. You still gotta shit like everyone else. 2) Realizing that one's human identity is illusory is much easier than changing your entire identity to some other. Awakening is not personal development and awakening is not mastery. 3) Creating a highly conscious community/society is an other order of magnitude higher and a separate matter from awakening. You could have an awakening and then go shoot up a school. That doesn't mean the awakening didn't happen or wasn't real. It's just that one awakening does not transform a lifetime of bad mental habits. Also, most of the people claiming awakening are not really awake. So there's that. -
Developing a game requires a massive budget. Web development was a way to earn money to fund such projects. FYI, I've been designing websites since I was in middle school. So it wasn't a big switch. I already had the skill set.

If Nahm is willing to correct his communication style, he can stay as a non-Mod member.

This is exactly the thing I don't want you guys to absorb. You can be extremely spiritually advanced AND communicate with humans clearly. It's not just that you didn't understand him because you were not woke enough. I also didn't understand him in many cases. It is a problem of social acuity.
