  1. The solution isn't no policing, it's higher quality policing. Musk's position is as stupid as defunding the police.
  2. Reddit's former CEO understands what I am talking about with moderation: https://www.businessinsider.com/former-reddit-ceo-elon-musk-twitter-free-speech-viral-thread-2022-4
  3. I am aware of that and I hand out warnings and will be banning right-wing ideologues and trolls. Point them out to me if I am missing them.
  4. That will happen. That's how policing works. It's never perfect. You guys are living in fantasy land. You have no comprehension of how difficult it is to moderate a platform like YT, Facebook, or Twitter.
  5. Cool story bro
  6. There def ain't gonna be no mass awakening. That's some serious New Age BS. We are lucky to just keep democracy alive at this point.
  7. You are projecting into that example and making more out of it than was said. The point of that example was simply to say that if it was revealed to you how much you've been fooling and lying to yourself your whole life, all in one go, it would make you want to vomit. That's all. That example is not going to help you deal with your issues. Contemplate your issue specifically, rather than comparing to my stories.
  8. Hedges wasn't silenced by YT for his views. Hedges was part of the Russian funded RT propaganda channel which got rightly banned. No one gives a fuck about silencing Hedges on YT. You can find tons of his interviews on YT. What your study fails to show is how unmoderated platforms are overrun by neo-Nazis, racists, conspiracy theorists, and toxic trolls -- creating a far-right indoctrination pipeline. Moderation is not censorship. A public square has rules. You can't just throw shit at people willy-nilly.
  9. I think that was one of the old epistemology episodes. Don't recall exactly.
  10. No serious person in America is like, "My ideas are too smart so I am being suppressed." It's the biggest assholes and idiots who whine about their speech being supressed. Nothing valuable is lost there. If you express good ideas respectfully no platform is gonna supress you. But people want the freedom to express bad ideas in obnoxious ways. Eventually they get banned and of course they blame everyone but themselves. What serious intellectual has been banned from Twitter for their ideas? Yeah, Twitter bans assholes like Trump, as they should. That Musk doesn't understand this speaks poorly of his understanding of how to build and sustain healthy communities. His Mars colony will be a libertarian shitshow a la Bioshock.
  11. It will never stick. US is too developed for that. US have very different culture, norms, and institutions than NK.
  12. No Pretty much any vape liquid is bad for your lungs. Expensive terpenes are best, but even those cause some harm. And no one who is selling you vape carts is using expensive organic terpenes. You guys here are too lazy and cheap to care about using the purest terpenes, so why would any manufacturer care about your health when you don't even care about your own health?
  13. Some people will be able to. Not everyone. Your psyche has to be primed for it genetically.
  14. It doesn't have to be hard. Your mind is creating that. It could be fun and effortless. But this takes practice of putting yourself in the right state.
  15. If she likes you a lot she will put up with pretty much anything, including physical abuse. Doesn't make it good game.
  16. Love is healing. Obviously what Incels lack is love. Both self-love and other-love.
  17. The problem with Twitter is not lack of free speech, it's lack of moderation and just the overall shallowness of it. Elon Musk is not going to fix Twitter with free speech. That will only make Twitter more toxic and more shallow. This is the myopia of libertarianism. And the notion that you can have serious intellectual discussion on Twitter is a joke. Twitter's problems are inherent to its structure -- which isn't going to change.
  18. No, things never go all the way back. There's always some progress. Yup, it's a very big picture view. They will be forced to change their ways eventually because selfishness and low-consciousness is self-defeating. Notice that Trump's narcissism lead to his downfall. The simple fact is that right-wing policies are just not popular. Majority of Americans don't want far right policies enacted. And if they are ever enacted they will work so poorly that they will have to be revoked soon enough.
  19. Of course all symbols are meaningness and relative. But that is not the self-reference problem. That's just realizing the nature of what a symbol is. The self-reference problem is when you try to use a symbolic system to speak truths about itself. For example, if you try to use science to explain what is science or you try to use logic to prove the validity of logic. Stuff like that. Eventually language is always gonna fail to fully be able to talk about itself because it is 2nd order. Truth must be prior to language because language must first exist before it can do any symbolic work. You can have truth without language but you cannot have language without truth.
  20. @puporing You got it. Welcome to awakening
  21. I call BS on this. Everyone craves to be close with others. They just have trauma which obscures intimacy or they lack the skills. It is not true that introverts don't value intimacy and closeness to others. They value it a lot, they just prefer it with fewer people but deeper. Whereas extroverts prefer it more shallow with more people. I am extremely introverted but I love intimacy and closeness with very select people. I don't like juggling a bunch of shallow friendships.
