Unity is not really a desire. It is existence itself. The distinction between something and nothing is silly. Love does not work according to Socrates silly human logic. It's way deeper than that.

Even that is a dream. The body cannot die if you stop imagining a future. -

If you forget then it will be as new and exciting as it is now. Maybe that is exactly what you did to get here. -
Obviously if you develop deep emotional connection then more will be expected. I mean situations where you meet a new girl and don't spend much time with her. Yeah, if you spend a month buttering her up, and then you sleep with her, she will be very attached to you and she will expect something exclusive. Cause you set that frame. It's all about the frame you set. If you set the serious boyfriend frame and take her on many dates then she will expect exclusivity much sooner. If you are approaching lots of girls and getting lots of phone numbers then you are not building deep connections with them, so little is expected of you. The girls are not attached to you, they barely know you exist. It takes a girl a lot more to get emotionally invested in you. Until sex, you care way more about her than she cares about you.

This assumes a fair democracy. But in practice our democracy is corrupted by capitalist lobbiest so new candidates don't have a fair shot of winning elections and crappy old ones stick around forever as they get more corrupt. And we have no tests for competence nor standards for honor. Even if a President is loved, honored, and competent, term limits still apply. So why not in Congress? The logic is identical. That's why the term limit can be set fairly high, like 10, 15, or 20 years. Well, that's cause Xi is hungry for power, and that's no good thing. Putin also skirted all the term limits. Where has that gotten us?

That's complicated. I am doing a course on that.

Basically it's function of genetics, metabolism, and brain chemistry. You can't assume these are the same across people. They can be very different. He has tried some. I think his problem is simply that his brain chemistry isn't suited to it or they have not much effect on him. This does happen. Some people have very high tolerances or just not much happens. Ralston is an unusual guy so you shouldn't expect this brain chemistry to be normal. He's basically a freak of nature. This can have its pros and cons. He has certain strengths and weaknesses, as we all do.

@Identity Yes! Very good line of questioning. It's murky territory. 2nd order truth can take on closer resemblance of 1st order. For example, you can have a drawing of a kangaroo which poorly resembles a kangaroo, like a kid's crayon drawing, or one done by a professional artist. But what makes things really weird is that you can have an abstract painting which looks nothing like a kangaroo but captures the essence of a kangaroo better than a photograph. -
Contemplation, visualization, meditation.

By that logic you should be against Presidential term limits too. Term limits are important to prevent ossification of the system. Congress right now is way too old and out of touch. Some of them are literally too senile to govern, like senator Boxer, who has dimentia, yet still clings to power. Even the Chinese have term limits in their Communist party.

Yeah, something like that. -

Being is far more profound than meaning. -
Yeah, I've falling into that a lot. The reality is that girls don't care much about you until after sex. Many girls will not even consider things are exclusive after one time of sex. It usually takes like 3+ times of sex before a girl starts to really get attached. At that point you want to avoid hurting her.

It can help, but it can also turn into an escape from doing important manual work. It's easy to fool yourself into the thinking that psychedelics will fix up your life for you. Ideally you should be combing psychedelics with serious manual work.

I do, or you? -

Well then, why don't you, as God, change the story to make yourself constantly high? -
- - - - - - - What Tate and his followers should observe is, when one uses controversy as a marketing strategy, how it boomerangs and bites one in the ass. This is the problem with devilry. It's self-defeating. But when the devil gets a taste of his own medicine, he comes crying. When Tate uses his power over women, he's cool with it. But when women use their power over him, via #MeToo, he's not cool with it. But power is power. If you play games of power, you should expect tit for tat. If you're gonna fight with women, expect them to fight back. This is the problem with Red. Fighting leaves everyone bloody. It's lose-lose. When you realize this, you outgrow Red. If you're going to employ Stag Red as a marketing strategy in a 1st world democracy, you should expect to get cancelled. There's a reason why social media platforms aren't founded in Romania. You can run from the police, but you can't outrun a global platform or the public opinion of 1st world democracies. You shouldn't expect to get all the benefits of a 1st world democracy without playing by its rules. This is otherwise known as cheating. And of course Tate is a cheater. But the problem with cheating is that eventually you lose.

Locking this because this will just devolve into personal attacks on each other soon.

How many different ways can I tell you that you are imagining reality? -
Leo Gura replied to Atb210201's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You're missing the simple fact that you are imagining it right now. So it is an idea. You have an idea that it's real and not an idea. But that doesn't make it not an idea. Sneaky! Consider the possibility that you have never slept even once, you just imagine you did. This would be some serious Awakening. Don't overlook the possibility that sleep itself can be a dream. "I have slept many times before!" Oh yeah? But how can you know that's actually true and not just a hallucination? You should wonder, How does God create sleep? Through what slight of hand? -
Leo Gura replied to Myself's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Because you are trying to equate A with B via definition. To define anything is to say A = B. You're not yet realizing that reality is undefinable. Everything is itself. A = A, B = B, and so forth. But you have not awoken to the absoluteness of this truth. It seems so simple and obvious, and yet you are not conscious of it. This is a devilishly tricky matter. -
How much?

Leo Gura replied to Atb210201's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Your ideas of formlessness are just a concept and you're certainly imagining that. But true formlessness is right here and now. -

It's not appealing for ego. But it is appealing for God. There is nothing bad from God's POV.
