  1. ChatGPT is surprisingly intelligent given all the crap found on the internet. It is less biased than most humans.
  2. It's not a small distinction. Conservatives are a good deal more corrupt. Just look at the current Supreme Court situation and the whole MAGA movement. You are never going to get some ideal or perfect party. Politics is all about picking the better of imperfect options, so everything hinges on making proper small distinctions. Although I wouldn't even say that the distinction between Dems and Repubs is small right now.
  3. Just practically, the more good you do the more bad you can get away with. Not saying anyone should be above the law but that's how the world works.
  4. @Kenza Benjelloun I hear what you're saying, but there is another level at which you can really appreciate the intelligence of mathematics and symbolic understanding. So it's not as bleak as you frame it. Symbolic systems and language is really profound stuff once you go post-material, post-rational on it.
  5. I doubt he would have even funded vaccine development. As dumb as Trump is, at least he did that.
  6. Not very. I should investigate him more, but I've heard some bad takes from him which left me with a bad first impression. His rants on Covid are sorta a deal-breaker for me, so I haven't bothered to investigate him deeper. How many hundreds of thousands would have died if this guy was the President during Covid? It's hard to take such a person seriously.
  7. As long as you occupy a finite form your ability to manipulate reality will be limited.
  8. Show me a so-called conscious person who can grow horns on his own head, then let's talk.
  9. You should contemplate the relationship between absolute truth and conceptual truth.
  10. Consciousness does not necessarily confer manipulation over reality.
  11. He may say some good-sounding things, but I doubt he would actually solve any of these issues. It's easy to level progressive critiques but not have the discipline and understanding needed to actually govern effectively. The President is not a dictator job. It requires working with all of Congress and all the insiders and bureaucrats.
  12. I have not been able to develop paranormal abilities that others could see. I don't know what that requires.
  13. @NoSelfSelf Sounds like you are fooling yourself.
  14. @NoSelfSelf Well... try being self-absorbed in your dealings with others and see how well that works.
  15. Are you kidding? How could it?
  16. NFL players and boxers demonstrate otherwise. You will never harden your mind against a baseball bat to the head. Be careful with utopian spiritual fantasies.
  17. But personal dev has already made you aware enough that this approach cannot work. So it is self-correcting in the long-run. In the short-run, yes, you may be more self-focused. But also, how can you help others unless you handle yourself? You are making an investment in the laying of a foundation for a skyscraper. Big investments require patience to bear fruit. If there was no cost, everyone would live in a skyscraper.
  18. Basically, in life, you're not gonna be treated better than you demand to be. If you set your standards low, that's what you'll get. Successful people set very high standards for themselves and others.
  19. A baseball bat to your head will morph your mind, no?
  20. Consciousness is not comprised of anything, everything is a figment of Consciousness, including energy, information, matter, and space.
  21. Humans a pretty limited in how much they can morph physical reality with their mind.
  22. He is good at leading technology teams. Leadership is not about engineering or coding. It's about leadership. You don't have to like Musk to recognize that he's a strong and talented leader. The Twitter stuff is just a distraction. When you are worth $200 billion, you too can afford a distraction. Although it's clear by his own admissions that he is regretting it.
  23. If you want to read philosophy, read Ken Wilber or Peter Ralston. It will be a 100x better use of your time.
