This is fundamentally wrong. That assumes that people are developed enough to transcend neoliberalism. They are not. People complain about neoliberalism but they are not mature, developed, educated, or selfless enough to live in a non-neoliberal society. It's like a rapist who complains about his family getting raped. But just because his family stops being raped does not change him from being a rapist and raping other families himself. The rapist is not truly against rape, he's just against rape when it hurts him, and he's pro-rape when it's him benefiting from it. So really all he is, is selfish. He has not transcended rape. There is not going to be anything but neoliberalism for the next 100 years. Because people are not developed enough for anything higher. You can blame centrists or whoever you want, but it's not going to happen. But what could easily happen is a backslide into illiberalism and authoritarianism. The more neoliberalism is attacked, the bigger the backslide will be, because attacking neoliberalism is not a solution to transcending it. Attack and criticism doesn't actually solve any developmental problems. The issue is not a lack of criticism, the issue is a lack of development.

1) Because standards evolve. 2) Historical research has evolved a lot since the 1960. History is a lot more accurate today than back then. Not even due to lack of standards, but just because historians have access to so much more data, archives, documents, cultures, etc. 3) It's actually pre-1960s history which is biased because it was written prior to the realizations of relativity which post-modernism brought to the table. You can whine about wokeness like a child, but the reality is that the relativity of post-modernism was developed precisely to combat gross ethnocentrism of people like Whatifalthist. Because ethnocentrism and nationalism makes for shitty, inaccurate, biased, corrupt history. Without post-modernism, history turns into Whatifalthist garbage.

Actually they are not. Since people keep voting for neoliberalism on steroids. People do not have the intelligence nor development level to understand what neoliberalism is or how to stop it. What people really want is to personally benefit from neoliberalism. Which is why they vote for Trump.

Nothing is so simple. Society is always gradually creeping forward, but there are setbacks and there is rot and stagnation. And there are avalanches thar spur on major reform. And you should also factor in the media ecosystem. Media trends and ideologies dejour play a huge role in shaping how people vote. With all these cross-currents are play it's impossible to predict elections consistently.

You can start by subscribing to some newspaper with actual journalists, like the New York Times or Washington Post and read a few of their articles per week. Do that for a few years and you will learn a lot. Understanding politics requires following the news for years. Slowly you learn.

Art, engineering, programming, teaching, research. These are some options. Of course any of them can get corrupted.
