Look at it like this: Is color knowledge? Is color insight? No. Color is more fundamental than both. So clearly we got some very fundamental stuff going on even without any crazy mystical mumbo-jumbo. -

I'm working on it. Should be too long. -

Insight is deeper than you give it credit for. You are assuming you understand what insight is, which is not a safe assumption. Consciousnes is even more fundamental than insight, although insight is more fundamental the knowledge. Insight is an aspect of Awakening but not the whole of it. Awakened consciousness is the basis for the insight of awakening. Consciousness awakens first, then insight catches up, or it could work the other way too. Awakening comes with insight but it's the same as insight. How is anything possible? -

It's better to phrase it as realizing that reality is Consciousness/Mind. The world is actually a cosmic mind, forever dreaming, like a mad artist lost in an opium den. It can dream anything. This realization is more than knowledge, it's your state of being. It's your condition. You are a dream. Being in a dream is beyond any knowledge of the dream's content. "Knowledge" itself is a dream. You are dreaming knowledge, which is why knowledge is fallible and partial. Before there can be any knowledge, there must first be a dream about which to have knowledge. So dreaming is more fundamental than knowledge. Awakening is not about changing your knowledge, it's about seeing the dream as a dream. Which is why no amount of knowledge can awaken you. -

Any of the classic spiritual pratices or psychedelics. The classic practices usually require long retreats and extreme rigor to work. And contemplation on top of that. It's not just rooted in truth. It IS truth. Existence itself is recognized to be Absolute Truth. Awakening is the realization of the nature of existence itself. What is existence? You grasp its nature absolutely. It's as if you lived your whole life in a dark room and suddenly someone turned on the lights. There is no doubt that the light is on once it is on. Or it's like you have been a fish your whole life and finally you realize what water is. -

Awakening is not an escape from mind, it's the realization that mind is actually Mind. It's the absolutizing of Mind. You don't need phenomena to be mind independent, you just need to realize that phenomena are absolutely mind dependent. Awakening is the realization of the absoluteness of consciousness. Absoluteness of consciousness is that one thing you cannot be wrong about. And it's not knowledge. Awakening is beyond knowledge, it is a state of consciousness. With that said, there are still many degrees of awakening and more you can realize. You are right to realize that knowledge isn't definitive, it is relative, partial, and highly fallible. But knowledge ain't all there is. So you must seek beyond knowledge. -
@Jayson G It's not possible nor good to try every solution because you can waste your whole life on a wild goose chase. At some point you have to stop looking for solutions and accept your situation. Many health problems have no solution. The universe doesn't owe you any solutions. Sometimes everything you try will fail.

Not intellectual truth. Self-biased instrumental rationality to manipulate reality. It's not about truth, it's about survival.

China does engage in some disturbing and problematic things, like indoctrinating their own children to hate the West. China might need containing at some point if it spirals out of control. But overall no one is going to attack America so America needs to chill out.

Well, one would hope for some human decency, but I guess that's asking too much. Jews of all people should appreciate the importance of that. -

Once you found a good book there is no other skill but to sit and focus and listen. And if a section of a book gets too repetitive you can skip forward 10-20 minutes and see if it gets any better.

The difference is Israel keeps doing it today. They are not interested in decolonizing. Meanwhile there are millions of oppressed people who are denied self-determination. -
Netanyahu isn't wrong, Iran would be better off without radical Islamists rulers. But there is no way of removing Islamism from Iran by force. Attempting to do so will only impower the radicals. And it is not for Netanyahu to decide who should rule Iran, as if Iran can decide who should rule Israel.

@Revolutionary Think Don't stretch the analogy too far. If that is your characterization of the founding of Israel, you severely underinformed about basic history. Israel wasn't founded through self-defense, it was founded by aggression and terrorism. -

That's what I was speaking to. Ethics in general should tell you that once you're not hungry, you should stop robbing banks. -
Yellow is more individualistic, Turquoise is more Global Tribe. That Global Tribe aspect is fundamental.

At this point, no. It's all just pure intuition for me now. I rapidly flip through videos, websites, news, books, audio books, speeches, podcasts -- and rapidly and intuitively sort the crap from the gold. It's all about finding the gold in a ocean of crap. I used to hold books and people in high regard. Now I just pick through their bones like a vulture looking for the organ meat. If I see no organ meat I fly off to the next carcass. #EpistemicVulture
