Leo Gura replied to Bufo Alvarius's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
By sovereignty over my mind I just mean that I am aware that my mind is constructing reality and all human spiritual teachings. This does not mean that I am in control of what the mind is doing. My mind does stuff which I do not control. Mind is on auto-pilot mostly. I am at God's mercy. If God wants to give me a disease or drop a rock on my head, I don't have a choice in that matter. -

Reality is consciousness in various states. -

Consciousness cannot be explained or defined because there is only one thing, Consciousness, leaving nothing with which to describe it. Consciousness is what you are experiencing right now. You are conscious. Notice that. No words can describe that better than your feeling of it. Red is red. If you want to know what red is, stop talking and just stare at red. So it is with Consciousness. -

This is a fantasy. A retarded person is not going to comprehend God. -
The infrastructure is just not the same.

Of course it is beyond all human capabilities. Just realize that humans are ants. Humans understand nothing, from the ultimate point of view. Of course. My highest teaching is that all human spirituality is weak sauce. As it should be, since humans are ignorant, deluded rats, even if they claim to be enlightened. An enlightened rat is still a rat. If you want serious consciousness you gotta go beyond all the ratness. -
Dominate? He's just sharing some opinions. Not a problem.

1) You are correct in that you cannot know ahead of time whether you will ever find truth or whether it even exists. But what you're overlooking is that no such gaurantee is needed. You can explore consciousness without needing any gaurantees from it. That is the way. 2) Why is desire for truth a problem? If you value truth, then pursue it and enjoy the process. Is your desire arbitrary? Even if it is, so what? In a sense, anything you choose to do is arbitrary. And you gotta do something either way. But also, maybe your desire is more than just that. Maybe it has a profound divine source. You don't know yet so don't jump to conclusions. 3) Pursuing bliss is a rather dubious idea. A mature mind isn't motivated by promises of raw pleasure. But there is a more advanced notion of bliss that might be a valid path. If you actually pursue the goal of being unconditionally at peace in all of life's situations, and you go about that seriously, then you will eventually discover that it leads you to Truth. But you must be careful not to confuse this with pleasure-seeking. This would be real bliss. 4) In the end, Truth and Bliss will be identical. But you can climb the same mountain from opposite sides. -
They are nice. Austin is great but the traffic is a nightmare.

Massachusetts is the crappiest place I ever lived. I cannot understand how people like it there. It's miserable and so expensive.

I reject this whole nonduality frame. Serious Consciousness is beyond all that. If you wanna keep swimming around in circles at this plane of consciousness, go ahead. I will not argue with you further. -

Your consciousness is changing throughout your life. You are sometimes conscious of more and sometimes less. If you insist on reducing Consciousness to a constant void, you can do that, but you will miss the higher aspects of Consciousness in that case. That's what Buddhism does. -

You just don't need all these extra distinctions you are creating. You can create them, but they will obscure the realization of ONENESS. If you just expand your notion of mind to be total, then your understanding will be much more elegant and profound. -

This is so misleading and problematic because level of consciousness changes. The changes of Consciousness transcends the notion of time, but in a simpistic sense it takes time. -

It doesn't need to arise out of anything since "out" and "in" are just constructs of Consciousness. Consciousness is not "in" anything and it has no "outside". Since these notions are inventions of Consciousness. It's like you're asking, Where is space located? The answer cannot be another space. Space is not located anywhere because location only applies inside space. Space itself cannot have a location. Any thing "that is" is a construct of Consciousness. Consciousness is just a void in which stuff arises. The void itself does not need another place or thing from which to arise. Void is rock bottom, so to speak. It's void all the way down. Void is infinite. You don't ask where void came from. If you are asking that then you haven't realized void, you are theorizing about it but missing the actual thing being pointed to. It's like you are talking about the moon without ever actually looking at it. -

No way. But I do understand things he does not. At least according to me. Whether that's true is up for you to discover. -

Again, this is inventing extra stuff called mind and perceptions. Mind is one, total, and absolute. The end. Stop here. -
Newport Beach, CA is one of the best places in the US. But hella expensive. Florida Keys are really cool, but hurricanes ruin it. Hawaii is awesome but impractically remote and limited.

Why do you need to lead her? Let her do her own thing. Two bossy people should just go their seperate ways and lead seperate teams. Trying to change the personality style of your sister is a foolish endeavor. Just as it would be foolish for me to try to mold you into a beta male. You would not be happy with that. You can't change the core of someone's personality. That is a dysfunctional aim.

No, that's also incorrect. Consciousness is not constant. -

No! Stop inventing extra stuff. -
Not depressed, but amazed and shocked by the realness and seriousness of life. It's def challenging, but a good kind of challenge. These videos show you how much you live in a bubble of comfort and safety.

This is imaginary. These are constructs of Consciousness. No. They are identical. -

It is the dream and it is the void in which the dream takes place. These are identical. Everything is identical, in the end.
