You will certainly slim down from prolonged fasting, and I don't mean just fat. You are not going to be able to maintain big muscles. This is why steroids are used by bodybuilders in their cut phases just before competition. It's hard to cut fat and keep huge muscles at the same time. With that said, unless you're a bodybuilder you shouldn't worry about being lean. Optimize for health and performance, not macho appreance.

It's all a matter of degree. What you have to understand about all these teachers who take the "don't work for it" approach is that they were extremely lucky to awaken. It would be like me telling someone career advice of: don't work hard, when I was born to billionaire parents. If not working worked then everyone would be awake. Yet no one is. There's not really a model for it. The facets can be revealed in any order. It varies enormously from person to person.
